Ute Tail Bag / 1875

A pouch constructed from native tanned hide, decorated with sinew-sewn seed beads. The pouch has a tapered form, with the obverse side consisting of triangle motifs in green/pink/translucent orange. The rectangular flap is similarly decorated with a perimeter of translucent white and dark green. Red ochre pigments the long tapered section bordered by upward-facing pyramids. Lanes of pink/green/translucent orange decorate the reverse side.
