Ute Tail Bag / 1870

A long tapered pouch constructed from brain-tanned buffalo hide, decorated with sinew-sewn seed beads. The obverse side comprises two central "tree dweller" figures, surrounded by triangular motifs in orange/pink/blue/green on a white field. Dark blue triangles decorate the flap along the rim. The flanks and base hoist fringe terminated in tin cones.
