Southern Cheyenne Moccasins and Leggings / 1880

A matched pair of moccasins and leggings constructed from native-tanned buffalo hide. The entirety of the set is stained with yellow ochre. The leggings feature mirrored triangles on a vertical strip, which wraps around the base. A central cross comprising red, white, and blue seed beads ornaments the vamps.
