Santee Sioux Pouch / 1890

A drawstring pouch constructed from native-tanned hide, decorated on the obverse side with sinew-sewn seed beads comprising tetrapodal stars in sky blue, yellow, green, and red around a central buffalo motif. The head features yellow eyes on a green field, with translucent red horns and translucent purple ears. The opening of the bag is scalloped, with short fringe securing the edge seam.
