Sioux Parfleche Box / 1870

A rawhide container constructed from buffalo which is trimmed in green Stroud cloth. The surface is decorated in mineral pigments on five sides, whereby hourglass motifs sit in a central box and border design. The flap has sawtooth cut-outs on one side. 

17" long and 11" wide, 10" tall
