Plains Cree Moccasins / 1890

A pair of soft-soled moccasins decorated with sinew and thread-sewn seed beads. The vamp comprises stepped triangles of red and orange sitting on a blue field sewn on canvas. The split tongue is adorned with an "x" motif. The edge is horizontally beaded with inward-facing triangles.
