Plains Cree Coat / 1870

A sinew and thread-sewn coat constructed from native tanned buckskin which has been adorned with dyed porcupine quills on the shoulders, cuffs, and chest. Long fringe hoists from the shoulders and waist, along with tassels suspended from the pockets. The quilled panels consist of an inverted triangle motif using red, purple, white, and blue colors.
