James Bay Cree Bag / Late 18th Century

A pouch constructed from sinew-sewn native-tanned hide and decorated on the obverse. The obverse consists of quilled panels flanked by pony beads. Below the panels sit quill-wrapped fringe fastening dyed moose hair. The opening and sides are similarly decorated in porcupine quills and remnant moose hair.
