Hopi Putsqatihu Katsina / 1880

A cradle katsina constructed from cottonwood root which is decorated in mineral pigments. The head features an extruding hairline overlooking a minimalistic face of black on a greyish(?) field. The body consists of pigmented arms in the "belly warmer" position filled with yellow and brown ochres. Red circles and lines surround the edge. Accompanying the katsina is a custom table mount.
