Gros Ventre Parfleche Case / 1860

A rawhide container constructed from buffalo, possessing medicinal contents. The obverse is painted in various geometric motifs using mineral pigments. The reverse features four crosses quadrisected by a central "x". 

6" wide and 8" tall
