Arapaho Doll / 1885

A female doll constructed from native-tanned hide and beaded with sinew-sewn seed beads. The head features locks of human hair with hide ties, with a face using white and blue. Red pigment blushes the cheeks. The yoke comprises alternating lanes of translucent yellow and blue, with fringe at the armpits. Her moccasins are similarly decorated, with greasy yellow, red "white heart" and blue beads.
