Apache Whetstone Case / 1890-1910

A container constructed from native-tanned buckskin, decorated in sinew-sewn seed beads. Both the obverse and reverse consist of a classic zig-zag design, featuring various shades of green, orange, blue, and pink. The sides are also ornamented in various geometric motifs, on a white field. The flap of the case is accented by a checkboard design. Supple fringe suspends from the base. Accompanied by the original whetstone.
