Ancestral Pueblo Burl Panel / Pre-1600

Exceptional cottonwood burl displaying a complex composition of iconographic imagery executed in earth pigment. Prominently featured are a spiraling sun with radiating rays, a Kokopelli figure, an anthropomorphic figure with antlers, and a second horned anthropomorphic figure. Additional imagery includes two birds and two serpents; one depicted as a rattlesnake with a distinctive zigzag body and the other rendered in a pecked or stippled style.
