Blackfoot Bonnet Case / 1850

An early and large parfleche cylinder made of buffalo rawhide and painted with earth pigments. The simple recto-design consists of a red triangle motif outlined in black, adjoined by smaller black triangles. Early trade cloth runs down the center seam, hosted by long thick fringe. 

23" long, 6.5" wide, with 15" long fringe
