Blackfeet Moccasins / 1880

A pair of hard-soled moccasins decorated with sinew-sewn seed beads. The vamp consists of a central keyhole motif of dark blue and red on a white background, with branching arms symbolizing the three tribes of the Blackfoot Confederacy. The cuffs feature trade cloth accents, with short fringe off the heel.
